Fredrick Harold Simpson passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 18, 2025. He was born on February 7, 1952, to the late Herb and Norma Simpson. He was married to Shirley McKenzie Simpson on March 29, 1976, who proceeded him in death along with his nephew, Little Larry McKenzie; brothers, Jeff Simpson and Chuck Vernon; brothers-in-law, Larry Hightower and Dean Johnson.
Fred is survived by his stepdaughter, Judy; granddaughter, Brandy (Justin) Carter; his great grandchildren: Alex, Ethan, Luke, Shelbie, and Justin; and one great great grandson, Colton. He is also survived by his siblings: Virginia Vernon, Herb (Linda) Simpson, Tim (Lori) Simpson, and two sisters, who cared for him to the end, Pam Johnson and Patty Hightower; brothers-in-law, Doc (Marsha) McKenzie, Danny (Linda) McKenzie and a host of nieces, and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
Fred was a jack of all trades. He spent some time in the timber business, and a little bit of Trucking, but his most passionate career was as a heavy equipment operator. He spent much of his life in a bulldozer, where he worked for several different mining companies through the years until he finally decided to turn in his CAT key and retire.
Much like Fred’s career, he had a list of hobbies that included rabbit hunting with his beagles on the ridges, mushroom hunting, farming with his cows and horses, and cooking for family and friends.
Fred had accepted the lord and was ready to get to his eternal home.
"Your presence I miss, your memory I treasure, loving you always, forgetting you never."
