Donna Frances Haner

Donna Frances Haner, age 79, of Jackson, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at her home with her family by her side. She was born October 9, 1946, in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Kenneth and Irene (McClellan) Maynard.

She is survived by her close companion, Jim Bachtel; sister, Judy (Roger) Ross; brother, Kenny (Marilyn) Maynard; nieces and nephews, Mark (Tracy) Ross, Nanette Sullivan, Tim (Carla) Ross, Tonya Ross, Kendra (Chris) Maness, and Mindy (Aaron) Bapst. Also surviving are numerous great nieces, nephews, great great nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her niece, Jenny Meredith.

She graduated from Jackson High School in 1964. She then attended and graduated from Rio Grande College, and also completed her Masters degree in Fine Art from the University of Rio Grande. She was a beautician in the 1970’s and then went on to work at the phone company as an operator before becoming a teacher until she retired. If a life’s success is measured by the goals we set out to accomplish and the lives we touch, Donna’s life was incredibly successful. She loved the Lord and others as herself. She’s gone to be at rest and longer has to suffer or struggle.

Visitation will be held from 12-2 PM on Friday, January 16, 2025, at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home in Jackson. A private funeral will be held at a later date with interment in Fairmount Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
