He graduated from Bloomfield School in 1940 and was the oldest living Alumni. He married the love of his life, Anna Jane Radcliff on December 24, 1944, and celebrated 75 years of marriage on December 24, 2019. After retiring they returned to Jackson County to live. He was a member at the Four Mile Christian Church. He enjoyed reading the Bible, going fishing, bowling, farming and planting his 1-acre garden every year, and his beagle dogs. He loved to watch birds and always made sure they had something to eat. He loved his family most of all. He was a dedicated Christian, husband, dad, uncle and proud grandpa. He was also called “Poppy” by so many that loved him.

Donald was a faithful servant of God who loved attending church and greatly missed it in later years. He is missed dearly by his family, but he has left behind the example of love he taught and the desire that all his family will receive Jesus as Savior and someday be together at Heaven’s Gate.
