Delores M. Williams of Jackson, Ohio and formerly of Shawnee, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at the age of 94. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and a life well-lived.
Delores was born on March 28, 1931 to the late Robert and Beulah Harris. She was a graduate of Shawnee High School, Class of 1949, where she was a cheerleader. After High School she married the love of her life, Bill Williams, on October 1,1950. They celebrated 73 years of marriage, and had known each other for nearly 90 years.
She dedicated many years to working in retail, including positions at Severance Grocery Store, Buckeye Mart, and Fisher’s Big Wheel, where she found joy in helping others and forming lifelong friendships. Beyond her career, she served as a Brownie Leader and volunteered with the Farmer Sportsman’s Booth and the football booth. She was also a devoted member of Calvary Church.
She was an avid sports fan, and a lifelong Ohio State Buckeyes fan. She rarely missed a football or basketball game on TV. She also loved watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren play sports, and found tremendous joy in celebrating their accomplishments, both on and off the field.
Delores is survived by her, brother, Jack (Barbara) Harris; children, Dain (Jackie) Williams and Jill (Bryan) Davis; son-in-law, Philip Howe; grandchildren, Courtney (Brian Leve) Howe, Morgan (Misty) Williams, Bryn (Mandy) Williams, Brandon (Genevieve) Davis, Dylan (Courtney) Howe, Katy (Jim) Jones, and Amelia (Codey) Roseberry; as well as 13 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Harris Jr.; sister, Helen Harris Metcalf; husband, William E. “Bill” Williams; daughter, Cheri Howe; and grandchildren, Lacey and Colin Howe.
Visitation hours will be Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 5-7 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Shawnee Ohio Methodist Church under the direction of Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home and J. E. Humphrey Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Shawnee Cemetery. Delores will be remembered for her kindness, her quick wit and her devotion to her family.
