David Patrick Wires, age 73, of Coalton, Ohio passed away Saturday, April 17th, 2021 at Holzer Hospital of Gallipolis. He was born November 3rd, 1947 in Coalton, Ohio to the late Myron Jessi and Almina (Dow) Wires.

David will be sadly missed by his children: Richard (Tammy) Wires of Wellston, Ohio, Tina (Shane) McClure of Richwood, Ohio, David (Megan)Wires of Wellston, Ohio, and Yvonne “Fonz” (Steven) Ewing of Jackson, Ohio; seventeen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Theodore, George, and Joe Wires.

David was a truck driver for Seitz Trucking for many years and many knew him by his handle, “Groundhog” In his spare time he enjoyed racing his car, camping, and spending time with his family.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 21st, 2021 from 5PM-8PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 22nd, 2021 at 2PM at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Kincaid officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
