Daniel Albert Taylor, age 74, of Patriot, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, December 18th, 2024, at his home. He was born June 7th, 1950, in Oak Hill, Ohio to the late Charles and Virginia (Oiler) Taylor.

Daniel attended Oak View School, Gallia Elementary, and then Southwestern. Through the years he worked at Landmark Feedstore, Portsmouth Casting, in the timber industry, and then as a coal miner for Waterloo Coal. Daniel was also a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Vietnam.

On June 30th, 1973, Daniel married Dianna (Miller) Taylor. Together they had two daughters. He enjoyed his girls and their giggles. Daniel enjoyed working on tractors, tending to his garden that he was so proud of, loved trading, enjoyed helping his grandson farm, and he loved the Lord.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Dianna (Miller) Taylor; his daughters, Amy Lynn (Frankie) Davis and Jennifer Ruth (Robbie) James; six grandchildren; Emily Davis, Grady (Kortney) Davis, Bentlea James, Trevan James, Myles James, and Myah James; great-grandson, Ledger Davis; siblings: John Taylor and Faye Vorhes; brother-in-law, Donald (Christina) Miller; sister-in-law, Janet Mercer and Kathy Ross; several nieces and nephews; as well as several special friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Arrowood.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 23rd, 2024, from 12-2PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2PM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com .
