Bertha A. (Miller) Carter, age 79, of Oak Hill, Ohio, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024, at her home.  She was born on November 3, 1944, in Jackson, Ohio to the late Luther and Mary (Farney) Miller.

She is survived by her daughter, Penny Christian; grandchildren, Justin Carter and Dannielle Boggs; great grandchildren, Aaron, Shelbie, Blazden, Justin Michael, Luke, Ethan and Alex Sharp; brother, Russ Miller; sisters, Becky Wallace, Sue Hickman and Cynthia Dailey.

Preceded in death by her husband Lester “Leo” Carter, on 8/15/09; great grandson, Chase Boggs; brothers, Bob Farney, Ralph Miller, Dale Miller, Gale Miller.

Bertha graduated from Southwestern High School.  She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She enjoyed serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and enjoyed her church family at Oak Hill Freewill Baptist Church.  She will be dearly missed by all of her friends and family.

At her request she will be buried with no public services at C.M. Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home in Oak Hill.  Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com .
