Arya Winter Ferris, age 3, of Jackson, passed away tragically late Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. She was born on March 4, 2023, to Josh and Sheydean (Crabtree) Ferris, who survive.
In addition to her parents, Arya is survived by her siblings, Talan and Braydee Ferris; grandparents, Brian Crabtree, Dave (Jane) Ferris, and Trudie (Rick) Brown; great grandparents, Janet Crabtree, Ruby Payne, and Keith (Judy) Ferris; aunts and uncles: Brittany Crabtree, Audra Crabtree, Jon Ferris (Celina), Stephen Ferris (Chelsie), and Justin (Haruna) Brown; cousins that she dearly loved, Ally, Addison, and Palmer Ferris, Khalessi Neal, Anna and Niko Brown, and Scarlett and Jada McKenzie. Also surviving are special friends, Carla “C.C.” Wayland, Susan Kellough “Aunt Susan” and Malcolm, Kay Cooper “Grandma Kay”, Gina Wolford “Mammaw”, and Treyson, Haven, and Bexlee.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Debra “Mamaw Debbie” Crabtree; uncle, Benjamin “Benny” Neal; and great grandmother, Sandra Henson.
Arya was pure energy. She was always moving, always talking, always learning, and always making friends. To Arya, every person she met was her new best friend. She loved everyone, and somehow everyone loved her right back. She loved The Wizard of Oz, Willy Wonka, candy, her iPad, her beloved Blanky, and especially her Ninny. Anyone who knew Arya knew how important Ninny was to her.
Three years does not seem like enough time. It doesn’t seem fair that someone who brought so much life, laughter, and love into this world could be gone so soon. But if there is one thing Arya taught us, it is that a life is not measured by years. It is measured by the joy and love we leave behind, and Arya left more of that than many people do in a lifetime. Though her time with us was far too short, Arya filled our lives with laughter, smiles, and unforgettable memories. She taught us about pure love, about finding joy in simple things, and about embracing people without hesitation. She left footprints on our hearts that will never fade.
Arya Winter Ferris will always be our precious little girl. She will always be remembered in every song that makes us dance, every piece of candy that brings a smile, every rainbow that reminds us of Oz, and every act of friendship and love.
We will carry her in our hearts forever.
We love you, Arya. We always will.
