Margaret Ellen Lewis, 95 years old, was unexpectedly called home by the Lord after a brief illness on June 6, 2020. Margaret was born in St. Paul, Kentucky to the late John and Dora (Brewer) Black and was one of six children.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Lewis; a daughter, Kathi Lewis; and four sisters.

Margaret taught grade school for 30 years at K.W. Lewis elementary. She was a WWII veteran having served in the U S Navy. She was an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and Silver Sneakers of Jackson.

She leaves behind her daughter, Susan (Marc) Kuhner; grandchildren, Kenny Adkins, Chris Adkins, Tim Childers, Julie McNerlin and Jeremiah Fox; five great grandchildren, Kailey, Regan, Garrett, Abby and Logan and her brother, John Black, of Phoenix AZ.

Private services will be held at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 with Pastor Becky Wingo and Rev Herman Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery in Oak Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Margaret’s memory to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 217 Monroe St., Oak Hill, Ohio 45656.
