James “Jim” Edward McGreevy, age 66, of Columbus, Ohio completed his journey on this earth and went on to the new life we are all meant to have on Thursday, January 25th, 2018. He was born November 8th, 1951 in Columbus, Ohio to the late John “Mac” and Eileen McGreevy.

Jim attended North High School and served in the United States Marines. I guess you could say he was a lively, successful entrepreneur with lots of adventures, including working with the Arnold Classic and the Harlem Globetrotters. He loved fishing and boating and enjoyed the last two summers on his new pontoon boat.

He is survived by four sisters: Julie McGreevy Campbell, Cathy (Pat) McGreevy Eisnaugle, Jean McGreevy, and Marianne McGreevy; and Mike Haught. He was a wildly inappropriate but hilarious uncle to many nieces and nephews. He loved children.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Patrick Michael McGreevy.

Jim was a kind man and will be missed by many; especially his near and dear friends, Tom Sabatino and family and Michael Walton and family. Also near to his heart were two dear neighbors whom he loved greatly.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, February 4th, 2018 from 2-6pm at Valley Dale Ballroom, 1590 Sunbury Rd., Columbus, OH 43219. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in his honor be made to: Wounded Warrior Project, Memorial Donations, PO Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675 or Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio, Attn: Development Department/Memorial Donation, 711 E Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH 43205.
