Pauline (Claar) Blair, age 90, of Oro Valley, Arizona, passed away Friday, November 25, 2016 at Oro Valley Hospital. She was born March 10, 1926, in Jackson, Ohio, daughter of the late John G. and Bessie (Harless) Claar.

She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, John E. Blair; her brothers John E. Claar and Robert C. Claar; and her sisters Hazel M. Claar, Bessie L. Humphrey and Wilma Jean Morris.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John E. II and Donna Blair, of Westerville, OH; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara E. and Howard R. Schmitter Jr, of Marana, AZ; 9 grandchildren and 18 greatgrandchildren; nephews, Steve Jones and Robert Irons; other relatives and many friends.

Pauline and John made their home in Columbus, Ohio, for 60 years. After raising her children, she worked for Madison’s Department Store for 18 years. She was a longtime member of East Columbus Christian Church, and an active lifetime member of the Columbus Beagle Club. She enjoyed tending her flower gardens and watching her “soaps” on TV. A special thank you to the staff at Clare Bridge/Brookdale of Oro Valley for the dedicated, loving care they gave her during her illness.

A public graveside memorial service will be held 12:00 PM Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the Fairmount Cemetery, 12 Fairmount St., Jackson, Ohio.
